Eggs, Baskets and Bunnies

This was our fun Saturday.

On Saturday we had a community Easter egg hunt.

We stayed at the park to play for a while afterwards.

Isaac had his first experience with grass.

This was Maggie with the Easter bunny last year.

We figured she would react similarly, like him from afar but not want to get very close. Boy were we wrong.

At home Maggie figured out what Easter baskets are really good for.

Arboretum

Friday we went with a bunch of other kids and moms from church to the Dallas Arboretum. We were there a lot longer than I planned and it was a lot hotter and busier than I planned as well and I came home totally exhasted but we had a lot of fun and it was a lovely spring day. Here are some pictures of our adventure.
Here we are when we first got there, doesn't Isaac look excited to get going!

Here is what Isaac is thinking a little while later after being stuck in his stroller the whole time so far.

Yeah! Our wonderful friend Tammy has freed Isaac, and he is so happy!

He took a break from the stroller and took a ride in the backpack.

Maggie had a great time playing in the water, it was hot enough to jump in.

Isaac couldn't make it any longer and crashed in his stroller, only I couldn't get him to lean his head back so he slept like this. I was about ready to do the same thing at this point.

Random

I have taken a lot of pictures lately but I haven't been organizing them when I put them on the computer so I don't know what all I have got. I just decided to post whatever pictures.

Yeah! Daddy's home. The kids are so excited and so is mommy!

I was trying to clean up and get everything ready for bed and Maggie was so wonderful she went and got a book and laid down by Isaac on the couch and started to read to him. It kept him happy and her busy until she got bored but any help is great!

Isaac is already trying to dress himself. I think he was getting a little frustrated that it wasn't working.

Okay, so here is my bad mommy moment for March, or one of them at least. I was holding Isaac when Maggie (who was potty training and wearing panties) yelled that she went potty (and she wasn't on the toilet) so I put Isaac on the couch and put the boppie around him hoping it would keep him in place and went to clean up a peepee mess before it got any worse. Well when I came back out of the bathroom Isaac was on the floor like this just having a great old time. Good thing he pushed the boppie off the couch to soften his fall.

And finally here Maggie is studying to be a doctor, or maybe a dentist like Daddy. She is reading a medical encyclopedia.

Snow Day!

It snowed!! I am posting this about a week after it happened, although it feels more like months seeing as it is supposed to be in the mid 80's tomorrow. But here that doesn't mean much since a day or two before it snowed it was in the mid 70's.

Maggie woke up around 7:30 and I jumped out of bed to take her outside and see if the snow was still there. Hence the sandles on her feet.

The snow was really icy but we managed to make a couple of small snowballs by scraping snow off of the mailbox and lightpole. Maggie had fun throwing them.

Isaac woke up so we bundled him up and Maggie a little more, although we were all still in our pj's, so that we could go back outside.

For some reason the snow on the other side of the driveway wasn't as icy so we were able to make a nice little snowman, key word being little. Maggie just watched as I made it and because there was so little snow I couldn't do anything with my gloves on and my hands were freezing just making this tiny snowman.

After about 5 or 10 minutes both my kiddos were getting pretty cold. They are going to have to do some serious adjusting when we move back to a cold weather place.

Once inside Isaac was rather happy in his winter clothes. I can never get him to smile when I pull out the camera but he just kept smiling away.

We brought Maggies snowman inside so that she could learn what happens to snow when it warms up. I thought that would make it easier for her to understand when all the snow outside was gone an hour or so later and it worked pretty well.

Isaac

I can't believe how big my baby is getting!

The other morning I heard him wake up but he wasn't crying so I just laid in bed, after a little while I heard a wierd noise over the baby monitor and I went into his room and he was playing with the toy on the side of his bed. He was reaching up and spinning the thing on the bottom. I was pretty impressed that he got there and figured it out. He thought it was lots of fun. Of course by the time I got the camera he was done playing but oh well.

Here Isaac is trying his first solidish food. He had to hold the spoon and my hands and feed himself the whole time. He really didn't seem to like the cereal too much. I have tried three times since then and he doesn't seem to be liking it yet, but we will keep trying. He sure makes some funny faces while eating it.

Tonight Isaac ate in the high chair instead of the bouncy seat. He is growing too fast.

Friday Game Nights

Well, I decided that we don't spend enough time having fun. We far too often get caught up in all there is to do and we forget to play. So, from now on Friday nights are our game nights.

For our first game night we played Dora Candyland, indoor soccer and hide-and-seek. Although Candyland was fun, I think it was more a lesson in patients for Adam and I, but she will get it eventually, she already did better the next time we played.
Yeah Isaac!! Maggie is giving him high five if you couldn't tell. Isaac won first, Mommy won second, Daddy won thrid and Maggie won fourth!
