Christmas!!

What a blessed season! I love this time to remember my Savior and to follow his example in giving to others. We have been trying to make this Christmas special for our daughter who is old enough now to understand a lot more than last year. We tried really hard to focus on Christmas being about giving. Of course she still loved opening her own presents but she also liked giving presents to her friends before Christmas and to her mom and dad and brother on Christmas morning.

We are trying to make new traditions to focus the holiday on Christ and giving. If anyone has any great ideas let us know. We hope that everyone else had the opportunity to realize the blessings God has given to them this Christmas time.

Here are the four of us in our Christmas Best!

Mommy made frames with pictures of the Savior, a scripture and their names on them for everyone.

Here is Maggies.

Here is Isaacs, he was very excited.

And here is Adams. This was the best picture I got.

Kids

I have had a few things that I wanted to post but I also had two ten page research papers and a grant application that I needed get done. So, every moment on the computer was spent doing research or typing papers. I now have enough of my homework done that I can justify spending time on the computer doing something other than that. So. this is all catch up.

Isaac is growing so fast. This picture is from a couple weeks ago. At four weeks he weighed 10 lbs., then last Monday at five weeks he wieghed 10 lbs 14 oz. If he keeps growing like this he will pass up Maggie in no time at all.

Maggie loves her little brother...

...sometimes she loves him just a little too much though.

A couple times last week she tried to pick him up all by herself and dropped him on the floor. It is a good thing babies are so resilient. He is probably growing so fast to protect himself.

Of course under a title labled kids Daddy has to be included. Don't these two handsome men look just alike?

Camping

We had our ward campout a week and a half ago. It wasn't quite the camping we were used to. We were in a big field, one used by cows. Also we were very close to the highways so we could hear all the traffic, plus trains and airplanes, all night long. Not to mention it was November and still warm enough to camp with kids. But it was still nice to get out and do something. It was of course Isaac's first camping experience.

The night got a little chilly but he stayed plenty warm all bundled up.

We got Maggie her own sleeping bag and she actually slept by herself, her first time while camping.

Maggie and Daddy had fun in the morning. They played football.

They went for a walk aroumd th big pond.

Maggie made a new friend. There were a few neighbor dogs just hanging out and Maggie just followed them around everywhere. We were amazed when she touched them and let them lick her because she is usually afraid of dogs when they get near her. Not any more.

Halloween!

Well, here I am writing about Halloween only two weeks later! We had a great time. The ward trunk or treat was on Halloween so we went there first and then headed back home to do a little bit of trick or treating around the neighborhood. Maggie thought it was great!

Here we all are. A couple of farmers with their cow and the crop (our cute little sweet pea)! M had fun going around and mooing at everyone.

This is us at the trunk-or-treat.

Here's Maggie and Isaac ready to go out trick-or-treating.

The Saturday before Halloween we went to a little party. This is Maggie trying to eat her donut off a string.

Our New Addition

Monday morning, October 8th, at 4:30 we added a new member to our family. He was definately ready to come into this world. We got to the hospital at 4:05 and I laid down on the bed about 4:23 and just a few minutes later with one good push we had a new baby boy. He was born at 4:30 and was 7 lbs 4 oz and just shy of 20 inches long. We named him Isaac Henry Weaver. He is a healthy and a happy baby. The first two nights home were a little rough with no sleep at all between 8pm and 5am but last night he started sleeping and only waking up to eat and poop every hour, thank goodness!

Mommy is doing good too. When you are not in labor for very long recovery doesn't seem to take as long. After finally getting some sleep last night though I feel great.

Maggie really likes her baby brother. She still calls him baby brother in mommies tummy sometimes but she knows who he is and that he came from my tummy. She didn't seem suprised at all when she saw that my belly had produced a baby. She likes to help me take care of him, sometimes a little too much but she is adjusting pretty well.

Adam had midterms all this week and despite having a baby and getting very little sleep he has done pretty well. He just has a couple more tests to finish up the beginning of next week. He has been a great help though!

Blogging

Well we finally gave in and decided to do a blog. Hopefully we will actually be able to keep up with it and add to it regularly. We haven't yet taken the time to figure all of this out so it will probably change a lot as we do but we wanted to go ahead and get started or we knew we never would. I know we are sometimes bad at keeping in touch all the time so hopefully this will help. We hope you will all keep in touch as well and let us know how you are doing.

Maggie's Birthday

This is a few weeks late but better late than never. It is hard to believe that Maggie is already two. She had a really good birthday. She got a bunk bed, which she has done really well in. She got a big turtle sandbox that we put in her room and filled with balls instead of sand and lots of other fun stuff. She went around the whole day singing "Happy birthday to you" and talking about her birthday party. We had a little swim party at our community pool here with some friends from church. I baked her birthday cake and Adam made it look cute, however she only ate the sprinkles. She liked opening presents and giving all of her friends little gift bags as a thank you. It was a good day for everyone.
